“I really don’t know what I miss, I just know I do. In some strange way I many times find myself daydreaming about being back in Hesperia,” Bjorn Eriksson graced the Hesperia High School student body with his presence for the 2008-2009 school year. While attending, he always felt welcomed. He misses the friendliness that Hesperia had to offer. Foreign exchange students always make an effort to try new things, and Bjorn is no different. One of his most memorable moments in Hesperia was his involvement on the Panther basketball team. Specifically, Bjorn had scored two baskets, one during the game in Big Rapids, and the other took place at home. “I will never forget the feeling hearing the crowd almost lift the ceiling in the gym that last time. Honestly, I’m still living on that one.”

At this moment, Bjorn is busy in his eleventh year back in Sweden. He is loaded with homework from his 8 AM – 4:15 PM school schedule. And with just two more years to go, Bjorn is eager to graduate. Uncertain, though, Bjorn is hoping to take a year off to travel or work, and then further his education in a nursing school, becoming an RN.

Bjorn plans on coming back to visit Hesperia. Until then, Bjorn leaves us with a few words, “I would like to thank all my teachers, but no one mentioned, no one forgotten. And thanks to coach Patrick for his patience with my total lack of coordination and brightness when it comes to basketball.”
